How has your career or role evolved at Novaskill?
Over nearly 20 years, I’ve progressed from Receptionist to Operations Manager through dedication, strong performance, and a passion for helping others. Mentoring our sales team, supporting people to secure apprenticeships and traineeships, and contributing to leadership initiatives has been incredibly rewarding. Novaskill’s supportive culture has enabled both my professional growth and work-life balance.

What motivates you to stay at Novaskill?
Helping individuals and businesses achieve their goals continues to inspire me. I enjoy finding solutions, educating clients about funding opportunities, and creating career pathways. Novaskill’s supportive culture, career development opportunities, flexibility, and collaborative environment have allowed me to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact every day.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy mentoring colleagues, supporting businesses, and helping people build successful careers. Working in a collaborative, community-focused not-for-profit organisation makes the role especially rewarding. The opportunity to make a genuine difference, combined with a healthy work-life balance through our 9-day fortnight, makes every day fulfilling.

What’s your favorite part of the culture at Novaskill?
My favorite part of the culture at Novaskill is how genuinely we care about one another. Everyone is incredibly supportive and work is an environment where I feel comfortable being myself. My strengths are celebrated and I am encouraged through the things I am still learning. Beyond being incredible managers and colleagues, they’ve become genuine friends. We’ve shared countless laughs, inside jokes and moments of leaning on each other during challenges.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
What I enjoy most about my role is watching students, apprentices and trainees grow in confidence throughout their journey. Building rapport from reception is incredibly rewarding, especially when they greet me by name with a smile. It feels like I’m making a real difference in someone’s experience through their studies or traineeship/apprenticeship. Every person is valuable at Novaskill no matter the role.

How has your career or role evolved at Novaskill?
My role at Novaskill has evolved by giving me a deeper understanding of administration, training and the industries we support. I have developed skills in professional communication, software systems and efficient processes. Through supporting apprentices, trainees and students across industries such as Disability Support and Carpentry, I have gained knowledge into recruitment, role requirements and industry expectations. Completing my Cert IV in Business through Novaskill has further strengthened my networking, communication and professional development skills.
